Solomon J. Rolingher
Solomon J. Rolingher is the Foundation’s Northern Alberta Chapter Chair. Solomon graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Petroleum Engineer degree and received his J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1968. In 1969 he was admitted to the Alberta Bar. As a Partner with Duncan & Craig LLP in Edmonton, Alberta, his practice is mainly commercial and corporate, with an extensive back ground in law practice management.
Solomon has held numerous executive positions in both the Canadian Bar and American Bar Associations and has lectured extensively to lawyers in the Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Poland and Ukraine on behalf of the Canadian government and the Canadian Bar Association.
Amongst other awards, he is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Knighted in the Order of St. John, received the Alberta Centennial Medal and appointed Queen’s Counsel. In 2007, he was appointed Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel of 1 Military Police Regiment. He also received the Lieutenant Governor’s Corporate Community Leader Award in 2009 and was inducted into the City of Edmonton Community Service Hall of Fame. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award jointly by the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association-Alberta for his work in the community and in 2012 received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
He is married to Marilyn and has three grown children and a grandson.
