Quebec Chapter Chair
Pierre Bourassa is our Quebec Chapter Chair. Following years in corporate finance and the pharmaceutical industry, Pierre joined in 1999 the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada as an Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA).
The NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) provides a range of both technical and business oriented advisory services along with potential financial support to innovative Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises. Pierre’s office is in Montréal at the Venture Capital division Head Office of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) contributing to the cooperation between the two organizations.
Pierre is recognized as an expert in start-up companies (e.g. University Spin-off). He often coaches scientists and entrepreneurs through the technology transfer and early-stage financing processes.
Pierre has been an active member of organizing/selection committees of numerous investment forums where Canadian entrepreneurs present their business plan.
Pierre has to been organizer and/or chairperson of numerous conferences, commercial missions to many countries including those of Europe and Asia.
Pierre received an award for its outstanding contribution to the industry from BIOQuébec.
Pierre holds a B. Sc., a degree in management and a MBA in bio-industries management.
