Saguenay Team win $4,500 Young Canadian Innovation Award and trip to Calgary for the 32nd National Ernest C. Manning Innovation Awards

The 16-year-old students of Seminaire de Chicoutimi in Saguenay recognized the growing popularity of the iPad as a classroom tool. Pierre Clapperton Richard and Francis-Olivier Couture sought to enhance its capabilities for students and teachers using them in courses. EffiClasse enhances communication between teachers and students, allowing for better information sharing, a classroom calendar and secure exam delivery.

"Observing the new iPad classes of our school, we noticed some flaws in this new concept. Thus, we have developed EffiClasse, a totally unedited iPad application that allows full management of these tablet-classes which eliminates the distractions that affects students and which allow continuation of exams on the electronic tablets. EffiClasse provides a concrete solution to the problems of iPad classes," the students explained.

The hometown heroes are receiving lots of well-deserved attention for their innovation.
